To be completely honest I have only ever seen a painting with this much attention to detail in museums. The depth and lighting are superb, and the reflections are perfect. If I didn't know better I would have sworn it was a photograph. The only thing I did notice was that there is quite a bit of light for what would otherwise be an overcast day with an oncoming storm just going by the sky in the background. I tip my hat to your skills sir.
I really enjoy the detail and likeness of this. Although I'm no one that should critique a piece so far above what I could do... the white light is somehow a little distracting... I don't know how, because I like where it is, and that it's there... there's just a a touch too much somehow. Otherwise, it reminds me of Alex Ross, the beautiful colors you used.
This has pretty much rendered me speechless... The detail on this is just unbelievable! I agree with the other comments about his eyes - they are beautiful (and exactly true to life, having seen them in the flesh more than once ) The expression of pain on his face is just heartbreaking!
