Sad? To be a fan of something and enjoy it and know it inside and out? Never. If it's okay for football fans to know EVERY single little detail about the football team they follow and support then its definitely okay for you, me and everyone else to know EVERYTHING about the TV shows we follow and support. If they can get "geeky" (for lack of a better word) about 11-men on a pitch kicking a ball around, then we can get "geeky" about a man with 11-faces travelling through time & space having adventures, helping people and fighting evil.
Oh I dunno. I'm fifteen and can name all the doctors (in order), all the companions they've had (in order), The story titles that the companions first appeared in, the story title they left in, the first and last stories of each doctor, the number of years they were the Doctor, the Producers of every single season of the show, and pretty much every single random fact you could come up with about the entire 46+ year run of the series. Go on, ask me anything. I'm a bloody Who fanatic and proud of it! (So I would say no, your case is not sad at all.)

These are all great. You capture these people. I myself am not familiar with them, but had I been asked, I would have said that I knew of only one Dr. Who. You have proven me wrong in that case as I now remember 3 or 4 of these guys. You make me want to know the rest. They each look interesting in their own rights.
